About the RENNtech AMG GT R Aero Package
This RENNtech AMG GT R aero package project was completed on-site at a detailing facility. The car was already there, so the installation was performed away from our main workshop.
At first, the job looked straightforward. However, this type of installation depends on timing, preparation, clean bonding, and careful alignment.
The project started with the direct supply of components from the manufacturer. As usual, GT Factory managed the process from parts ordering to installation.
There was a production delay, but we recovered part of the time through logistics. As a result, the installation could move forward while the car was still at the detailing center.

This was the starting point. The AMG GT R already had a strong factory presence, but the RENNtech components were intended to make the car look sharper and more focused.
Initial Vehicle Inspection
First, we inspected the vehicle from all sides. The work involved the front bumper, side skirts, and rear wing area.
The rear section still had the factory diffuser and original rear wing. Therefore, the new parts had to work with the OEM design.
On a car like this, visual balance matters. Every added element has to support the factory shape and the performance character of the vehicle.

The side and rear views showed how much of the vehicle would be affected by the installation. Because of that, the work had to be planned as a full aero package, not as separate parts.

Next, we laid out the RENNtech components before installation. The rear wing side plates were prepared for an additional blade mounted above the original wing.
The wing blade also included a central support point for added rigidity. In addition, the side plates worked as structural supports for the upper element.
This design changed the rear profile of the AMG GT R. It also added a more serious motorsport-inspired appearance.

The wing side plates had to be positioned carefully because they define the final geometry of the upper rear blade. Small errors here would be visible immediately after assembly.

Front Canards Installation
First, the front bumper canards were marked and installed. These elements are designed to help generate additional front axle downforce.
Some straight-line builds ignore aerodynamics and focus only on power. However, this client wanted a more complete performance setup and also enjoyed driving on track.
Because of that, the aerodynamic function mattered. Extra power means little if the car cannot put it to the road with stability.

Rear Wing Blade and Side Skirts
After the front aero work, we moved to the rear wing elements. The additional blade was positioned farther back, which changed the rear aero profile.
Next, the RENNtech side skirt overlays were installed. Their profile was more pronounced than the factory pieces and added more structure to the side of the car.
Together, these parts helped balance the stronger rear section. Without the side elements, the rear upgrade would not feel as visually integrated.

During bonding, the parts had to be held in the correct position while the adhesive cured. This is where patience and proper temporary support matter.

Bonding and Alignment
All temporary supports, tape, and holding fixtures were necessary. They helped distribute pressure and hold each part evenly across the contact area.
This step is not glamorous, but it is important. Correct pressure helps improve adhesion, surface contact, durability, and final appearance.
Therefore, a clean aero installation is not only about placing parts on the car. It is also about controlled bonding, symmetry, and proper curing time.

After the main positioning was complete, final correction and cleanup work continued. These small adjustments make the difference between a basic installation and a proper finished result.

Once the adhesive had enough time to settle, we removed the fixtures and tape. The car was then ready for a final visual check.

Finished AMG GT R
The finished project came together with the client’s trust and clear direction. Without his decision to build something different, this on-site session would not have happened.
As a result, the AMG GT R received a more aggressive front end, stronger side profile, and a more serious rear aero package.
The car looked sharper, lower, and more focused without losing the factory AMG GT R identity.

From the front, the RENNtech canards gave the car a more aggressive expression. The AMG GT R already looks serious, but these details made the front end even more focused.

From the rear three-quarter view, the added wing blade and side skirt overlays helped the car look more balanced. The rear became stronger, but the side profile supported it visually.

The rear view became more massive and more technical. At the same time, the added parts stayed connected to the original AMG design language.

The front symmetry was one of the more difficult parts of the project. It looks simple after completion, but clean alignment took careful measuring and patient adjustment.

The finished rear wing setup completed the project. It made the car look more track-focused while preserving the original AMG GT R proportions.

Our Approach to Aero Package Installation

As a result, this Mercedes-AMG GT R C190 received a RENNtech aero package with front canards, side skirt overlays, and an additional rear wing blade.
